Summer’s here so it’s finally time to pack away your winter warmers and get festive. Time to show off those lovely legs and show us just what your mama gave you!
Cute shorts are the must-have this season. They can be seen on runways the world over this year and Sandton City is never far behind the latest catwalk trends. Nina Sophie was spotted by Sandton City dressed in these classic black summer shorts combined with a simple white, embellished, tribal tunic top and a pair of flat black boots. Nina decided to accesorise with a matching sling bag to close off this summer’s preppy but fun fashion favourite.
Tops
Loose tanks, particularly brightly coloured ones are best worn with dark coloured-summer shorts. One of our favourite things about this look is that with a silk or satin top it transforms from preppy but fun summer to formal and gorgeous, perfect for grabbing attention sipping sundowners.
Lightweight Jackets/Cardigans
Cardigans play the ensemble down, transforming the look from formal to classy. An elongated dark-coloured blazer gives the whole look a tailored look.
Shoes
With shorts, we recommend sandals during the day. For nocturnal fashion adventures keep your heels low and remember if you are short avoid shoes that cover your ankles, as they make you look shorter.
Wedges are wildly popular this season; we recommend nude platform wedges as they draw more attention to your shorts. For a mixed up wardrobe, Nina wore boots; not an easy look to pull off but we feel “if you’ve got it, flaunt it!”

High drama
Dramatic bolds and neutral nudes are the latest in lip colour styling; think a glossy deep purple for high-shine glamour.
