Look of the Day

This Fashionista turned heads in Sandton City with an outfit that looks as though it came straight out of a fashion magazine – effortlessly stylish with just the right amount of accessories to give a look that is classy, sophisticated and understated. She combines a white sleeveless shirt with a black skirt, a white and gold waist-belt, black tights, black pumps a gold necklace and a chocolate-brown handbag.

To get her look, keep your outfit simple with just a few eye-catching accessories. Many Fashionistas associate the word ‘simple’ with the meaning of ‘plain’ or ‘boring’. Take one look at our Hot Look of the week and you’ll realise that this common thought is certainly not true. Think clean lines, simple silhouettes and a monochromatic palette.

For this minimalist trend, less is definitely more.

Eau hello!

It is here. Yes, we feel like we’ve been saying that a lot this year but this time we mean beautiful summer and not the beautiful game. And with summer comes the scent of the season.

Keep it casual

We love this season’s off-duty look. Call it chic combat or utility, the stores are awash on olive green and khaki for a very fashionable army.

Justin Bonello cooks again

He might have been traipsing around the country with Aussie food legend Bill Granger on Woolworths’ good food journey but local culinary genius – and altogether not bad looking guy – Justin Bonello ha

Is it a bird?

It’s no secret that one of the big hitters of the spring summer season is prints – and animal prints most especially.

Happy birthday Miss Arden

It’s hard to believe that a beauty brand as well known and relevant as Elizabeth Arden is today was started 100 years ago, but that is indeed the case.

Is that spring in the hair?

There’s a surefire way to force spring into your step and it’s not going to cost the equivalent of a whole new wardrobe (although, obviously, we highly recommend this as a form of therapy too!).

Make mine a pouch

Never underestimate the power of a killer accessory. Think about it… Take one blah outfit, add one sensational pair of heels or of-the-moment bag and you’re swooshed from zero to hero in an instant.

Jean Genius

Take one look at these jeggings and you’d be forgiven for thinking that they’re only for Latvian supermodels or the very, very brave. You’d be wrong though.

The new bloom

Not that we’re ever bored of receiving them, but the fashion world would have us believe that a bunch of balloons are the new bunch of flowers.

Nautical is nice

If you’ve been feeling nervous about channeling 80s tannies who sported gold anchors on their red jacket lapels, fear not.

Make mine a mani, please

Karl Lagerfeld’s Chanel collections are as eagerly anticipated for their fashion forecast as for the colour of the models’ nails.

Blooming gorgeous

While you can never have too many monochromatic staples in your cupboard, we’re all about bright florals that make a statement this spring.

It is here. Yes, we feel like we’ve been saying that a lot this year but this time we mean beautiful summer and not the beautiful game. And with summer comes the scent of the season.

We love Clarins fragrances for their fresh and uplifting notes and their spanking new release, Eau des Jardins is the business. Like all Clarins treatment fragrances, it combines plant fragrances and aromatherapy techniques and boasts 10 essential oils and three bud extracts.

We’re not quite sure what this means exactly but agree that it sounds mighty impressive and smells even better – florally, fruit and fresh and a scent that translates easily from day to night. Love it. Oh, and did we mention that the bottle is man sized. Love that too.
